TUFT'S VICTORIAN PICKLE CASTOR An absolute must for any collection! This unusual pickle castor shows the whimsy and attention to detail that was prevalent during the Victorian era. The glass container is in the shape of a pumpkin. It is made up of frosted and clear glass, giving it great depth and dimension. The lid is decorated with a silver handle with leaves and vine that look like the top of a real pumpkin. As you can see from the photos, even an adorable little bug enjoys its spot on the top of the lid! Each side of the frame is decorated with intricate leaves that vine out onto the sides. Each of the four feet is detailed with a flower that matches the flowers on the top of the frame.

The frame is marked J.W. Tufts, Tripleplate, Boston, 2371 & is signed with an M. Everything is in excellent condition with the exception of a small half bulls eye type chip on the rim on the lid. This is not noticeable in any way when the lid is in place. The frame measures 10 ½" tall by 5 ½" wide. The pumpkin shaped glass container is approximately 5" across by 3 ½" tall, with the handle extending another 2".
